For Every Application For Doors Up to 800kg
The Standard Solution For Individual Requirements
The use of automatic door actuators in modern machine tools has increased in recent years. The trend towards automating every possible machine tool function has also included opening and closing the doors of protective machine hoods. The loading and unloading of machines presents a particular source of danger for both the operating personnel and expensive loading robots. Thanks to their well-designed software, decades of experience in the field of automatic doors and the use of the latest generation of drive elements, Gortite NT machine door actuators are an ideal solution.
Safety – Up to Safety Category 4
In the standard version, the NT drive supports Safety Category 2 according to standard DIN EN ISO 13849-1. In order to meet the various safety requirements of the machine door actuator, the NT drive can be equipped with the following additional options:
-
If the position of a door is still known after a power failure, the motor can be equipped with a multi-turn encoder or another position sensor.
-
For vertical doors, a mechanically activated spring-operated brake is available, which holds the doors in their current position in the event of a power failure or emergency stop (only for NT). For vertical arrangements driven by belts, chains or ropes, antidrop safety devices which act directly on the door body are available.
-
An additional “Safe Standstill” module is available according to Category 3.
-
Category 4 can be met by taking additional measures.

*door weights are indicative values and are subject to detailed specification, e.g. dynamics, speed, safety.
**The motor can hold this door weight in the upper end position. In the event of frequent door movements, contact the manufacturer to check the thermal load.
The Control Unit – Fits Into Any System Environment
The direct drive motor control unit has six digital inputs, three digital outputs, a relay output and a brake driver. The DoorManager operating software supplied can be used to freely set the functions of these inputs and outputs. If required, the control unit can be extended with an additional 8I40V0 module or a pluggable fieldbus module (PROFIBUS, CANopen) and thus become fully integrated into the modern automated environment.
